Rock Chip Repair FAQs

- Adds strength to the windshield
- Retains the original seal
Why repair a damaged windshield?
The purpose of windshield is to restore the structural integrity of the glass and improve the optical clarity of the affected area. Road debris frequently strikes windshields and causes damage that may seem minor, but can lead to further problems down the road. Unless the damage is repaired, the glass will continue to crack until the entire windshield requires replacing. That’s expensive. A lot more expensive than a simple windshield chip repair job. Chips up to 1/2″ and most minor cracks can be successfully repaired without replacing the windshield.
How does it work?
The process bonds the glass together with the use of vacuum, injection pressure, and specially formulated glass resins that seep into the crack and harden—becoming seamless. The process restores the windshield’s integrity (strength), dramatically improves the appearance and, most importantly, prevents the break from spreading.
What guarantee do we offer?
Our cracked windshield repair offers a Lifetime Warranty on all repairs against defects in materials and workmanship.
What size of windshield chips can be repaired?
Most small chips that haven’t graduated into full, long cracks can be managed with our treatments. We use a special material that’s forced deep into your chipped windshield and allowed to harden completely. This material is so tightly sealed into the window, that it can be hard to tell where the crack was originally located. Ask us about all your small chips, and remember that they can grow into more expensive damage very quickly.
Is the repair permanent?
Yes it is. Once the chip repair material has had a chance to harden, it is fused into the windshield. The smaller the chip, the more effective this service will be. Remember that chips tend to grow into cracks, and cracks can continue to grow until the entire windshield is no longer considered legal and safe. Save yourself the trouble by handling things while they’re cheap.
How long will it take?
Treating your chipped windshield takes as little as 20 minutes for our techs when you stop in at our central location. The repair itself rarely takes longer than that, though your wait time may be determined by the number of customers in front of you.
